Why the name?

Chalfont and Latimer is a stop on the Metropolitan line of the London Underground. It is just outside the city, on the way to the Chilterns (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). When the city gets too grey and overwhelming, it is brilliant to head out for a walk and get some fresh air. It may not be as wild as the Scottish Highlands, but it scratches an itch.

One of the first outings we did from London together was to walk the Chess Valley trail. We took the Metropolitan line to get there, and got off at Chalfont & Latimer. Now, seeing the stop on a map triggers memories of green spaces and freedom from the city. As there are two of us, the name is ideal.

We both love going for coffees, with Lattes being the preferred choice of drink (how millennial). I’m sure you can make the link!
